$25,000 Grants to be Awarded to Select Community Organizations in Dallas
September 20, 2017 (Dallas, TX) – Stand Together and Pro Football Hall-of-Famer Deion Sanders today announced the launch of the Prime 5 Catalyst Program, an effort that will create Stand Together partnerships with a select number of Dallas organizations that have demonstrated the ability to help transform the lives of individuals and families facing persistent poverty in the local community.
Stand Together’s Prime 5 Catalyst Program will identify Dallas organizations to participate in a four-month program starting in February 2018 that will deliver industry best practices that Stand Together supplies to all of their partner organizations across the country. In addition, each of the Dallas organizations that are selected will receive a $25,000 grant. Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis through November 10th at www.prime5.org.
“The Prime 5 Catalyst Program will allow us to partner with a growing number of Dallas organizations that are inspiring individuals to tap into their unique gifts and activate their full potential,” said Evan Feinberg, Executive Director of Stand Together. “We are excited to work with these select organizations and to help them increase their impact in the Dallas community.”
Stand Together seeks to partner with innovative organizations that empower people caught in cyclical poverty with the resources and support necessary for self-transformation. Stand Together currently works with a growing network of 45 organizations across the country by providing access to resources, industry best practices and an extensive network of innovative leaders. Stand Together is supported by The Seminar Network, a group of business leaders led by Charles Koch that supports efforts to help people improve their lives.
“We are committed to helping the people of Dallas realize that change is possible if we all work together as a community,” said Sanders. “I am confident that our Prime 5 Catalyst Program will provide meaningful support to local organizations that share our vision and values.”
Prime 5 is a $21 million funding initiative over the next three years created by Stand Together and Sanders in June 2017. Funds raised through Prime 5 will be allocated to innovative organizations in Dallas with an established track record of success helping individuals transform their lives and strengthening under-resourced communities.
“Working with Stand Together, we have gained the valuable business tools necessary to run our organization more efficiently in helping our community to reduce irrational violence and generational poverty,” said Bishop Omar Jawar, Founder & CEO of Urban Specialists. “I applaud Stand Together’s commitment to Dallas and I encourage my fellow community leaders to help them identify local organizations that are making difference in helping people to improve their lives.”
Urban Specialists was the first Dallas organization to become a Stand Together Catalyst in 2016 and recently launched its second chapter in Atlanta. Additionally, Urban Specialists along with Youth Entrepreneurs and ACE Scholarships are the first three Dallas organizations to receive funding as part of the Prime 5 initiative.
